TASK 1: Physical Collage
The first exercise of the week is quite simple to be honest, it just need to find some materials from magazines or books and cut it out to make your own collage. So I tried to find some of them that fits my personality and things that I like. At the end, it's hard for me to find magazine that fits my personality in a bookstore, so I decided to print magazines from the internet and just use what I think is good enough to make a collage. I use limited materials since the price of printed paper is quite pricey.

Personally, I like Collage #1 because I went all effort in Collage #1. It fits me better than the other collages. Collage #3 may look elegant, but for me it looks like trash and I don't know why I made it. Collage #2 looks very plain and boring to look at because of the space in middle. In the end, I chose Collage # 1 as my final submission.
So anyway, I started to reassemble the composition for Collage #1 using glue. When gluing some of the materials, some of them didn't stick properly so I had to use brute force to make them stick on the canvas. In the end, the composition glued very well even if I have to use brute force.
TASK 2: Digital CollageThe second exercise is to make a digital collage with limited images. The images were given by Mr. Martin and we have to assemble this images and construct a collage using Photoshop.

Personally I like digital collage #3 because it portrays like the fencer is battling each other. Mr. Martin also suggest me that I need to add more masking on the collages. I'm now focusing on collage #3 because it got my attention. I added some blending mode and more effect in the collage.Fig 2.4 Collage #3 with blending mode and some additional images
FEEDBACK
Week 4:
The digital collages need more masking on it.
Week 3:
Public holiday.
Week 2:
Collage 1 and 2 can be adjust and will be good. Collage 3 is kinda bland and kind of a waste of time. The collages are pretty square-ish so if possible, please cut them properly.
REFLECTION
After finished with this task, I'm kinda relieve that it's over although there is many task more incoming. I learned that in making collages, it's not about the component we are using but on how we put the component in a composition. Blending tool is fun because we can add effects on the image we like.
