Task 2 - Brainstorming

 Week 4 (14/05/2024 - 20/05/2024)

Fig 2.1 Art Direction Moodboard (Week 4, 14/05/2024)

In this week, our group has divided into four parts where each will work on:
  • App & Microsite Design (Konomi Hoshikawa, Takuto Hozumi)
  • Art Direction (Adifa Putri Harisyam, Derin, Glen Owen)
  • Logo (Leem Sejin)
  • Storyboard (Adifa Putri Harisyam, Derin, Leem Sejin)
My task as an art director are mostly to keep things organize and to determine which design we're going to for our solution. Our client has suggested us on this aspect to look on for our art direction:
  • Color Palette
  • Visual Style
  • Typography
  • Graphic Elements
  • etc.
I helped in giving ideas to my groupmates although I felt like I am being a burden. Still, I tried my best in giving them ideas.

We then had a meeting with our client to show our progress to them. They complimented and gave feedback to us regarding the ideas we have shown to them and they seem satisfied with our design thinking.

After the meeting with our client, I have focused on directing for our art direction so that we can have a clear progress on which design we will be using and to show to Mrs. Lilian. We had to use Zoom Meeting so that I could explain the direction to my group members and discuss with them on which design we're going for.

 Week 5 (21/05/2024 - 27/05/2024)

In this week, we present our finalized moodboard to Mrs. Lilian so we could receive feedbacks. After we have finished presenting it, we then start transferring it into Canva so we could make our presentation slide for Week 6.

Week 6 (28/05/2024 - 03/06/2024)

This is the final week for our second task and we need to present it to Mrs. Lilian. She told us that the presentation slide are on point and we have delivered our information and solution well. She told us we can continue with our progress as this is where we stopped at Task 2 and continue on Task 3.

FEEDBACKS

    Week 4 (14/05/2024)
  • Show only the final art direction for the moodboard.
  • Don't show the entire moodboard as it looks bad, try to show it in presentation slide instead.
    Week 5 (21/05/2024)
  • Show progress on how you arrived at the final art direction
  • Give rationale to each work you have done
  • Add comparison on homeowner and contractor side of the app
  • Make only one logo for the app
  • Simplify the storyboard if you can't make it in time
  • Tidy the slide
  • Remember to apply color palette on the pitch video later on Task 3
    Week 6 (28/05/2024)
  • Presentation slide are well communicated and are on point
  • We may proceed on our prototyping

REFLECTION

To be honest, I felt like I didn't contribute anything in this task... All I do was just directing my group members on what they should do and I felt bad for it because I didn't do all the work and only help on making the slide and tidy some of it. Even though the group leader commended me on my direction, I still felt like I didn't do much.

Still, I tried my best on trying to help my groupmate even if its a minor convenience. I did contribute a little on giving them ideas and references for the pitch video and the design of the characters. When I said I directed in my group is that it's a last minute resort because I noticed that the moodboard was very messy and we haven't decided on which design we should go for. So stepped in and direct them on the correct path.

When we we're presenting on our final presentation, I felt very nervous and anxious. To be fair, I didn't know some of my groupmate's work so I tried to explain the slide based on what I see briefly. Yes, I do bad in this task, and I admit that I felt like a burden. That won't stop me to try to contribute more for my team.
