Final Project - Art Bible

Exterior Illustration

In this bible, I refined everything that I did in Project 1 and Project 2 and form a bible. I made an illustration for my exterior of the structure as well since I didn't managed to do it in Project 1. The first thing I do is to go to Blender and take a decent shot of how I want the structure to be displayed like. While doing this, I also tried using AI to see their capabilities in showcasing a pyramid so I could use it as reference

After having the model in my desired shot, I then screenshot it and begin my drawing on top of it.

Fig 2.4 Colored and Rendered Illustration (Week 13, 23/07/2024)

Mr. Kanaan told me that the illustration is too monotone and that I should add other colors as well. Personally, I think he is right because right now it feels bland. He also reminded me to add some visual effects on the illustration to make it stand out.

Fig 2.5 Refined Illustration (Week 14, 24/07/2024)

While doing this, I thought to myself that what if I kind of use the background I did in DMP module into this. So, I tried it and it made it even cooler personally and more lively.

Interior and Close Up Illustration

This illustration serves only to show the close up of the interior I made earlier and also polishing the interior illustration I made in the previous project.

I add some lava underneath the platform and add some smoke as well. Mr. Kanaan told me that the illustration is too monotone and that I should look at more references. He was right though because now I feel like the atmosphere of the illustration makes it look fire hot and it could melt the room.

Now that the interior illustration is done, it's time for me to make the close up shot of it. As usual, I took a shot from my blockout in Blender first before doing the actual illustration.

Call Sheet

For the call sheet, Mr. Kanaan has gave us some example that we can look at and refer to it. After looking at the existing references, I just compile them in one sheet and call it a day.

FEEDBACKS

Week 14 (24/07/2024)

  • Give depths on the illustration
  • Tweak with the color and saturation, don't make it too monotone.
  • Make the details stand out

REFLECTION

This project was supposed to be done by Week 14, but thanks to Mr. Kanaan, he gave extension because majority of us still haven't done the project yet. Can't blame much as we are also struggling with other modules as well and tried to maintained balance schedule. Though, I do learnt a lot in this module and thanks to Mr. Kanaan, he has opened my mind in designing stuff. I don't have much question about this module, i kind of enjoyed it very much and it made me realize that in the industry, just character design alone won't make you a designer/artist. I do hope next time in the future I could do better than this and try to manage time well enough.
